Agate Band

Dear Agate Families,

We are going to have a musical band in our school starting in September!  All students grade 4th and above are welcome to participate!   SIGN UP

This is a wonderful opportunity for talent to come to life, which otherwise might never be discovered. Music provides young people a means of purposeful recreation that can be a lifelong enjoyment. As an art, music elevates and expands the human spirit. Even more important is the fact that numerous studies consistently indicate that students who participate in instrumental music score significantly higher on state and national tests and core subject areas.

Led by the talented Hudson Adams (see below), this program promises to be an unforgettable experience for every participant.  The twice a week class will begin at 9:00-10:30 am on Tuesdays and Thursday starting September 30th, 2025.  Students will gain access to a comprehensive band program that includes expert instruction, engaging activities, and the opportunity to collaborate with fellow music enthusiasts. Hudson's teaching style is energetic and passionate, ensuring that every student feels motivated and excited to learn.

But that's not all! We understand that having the right instrument is essential for your musical journey.  We will be hosting an assembly during school where students can try out different instruments on Thursday, September 18th, 2025 during school from 2:30-3:30. This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to explore their options and discover what resonates with them.

Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to be part of our band program! With expert guidance from Hudson, instruments, and a supportive community, you'll be well on your way to making beautiful music!

Hudson enjoys composing music in a variety of genres including jazz, R/B, and electronic music (you can find some of his work on streaming platforms under “Stoney Brook” and “Huddy”).

Since graduating in 2023, Hudson has been running guest clinics in the Jeffco, Littleton, and Adams county school districts for jazz bands and trumpet players alike. Starting this last year, he has been substitute teaching for the Jeffco and Littleton school districts during the school year. Hudson believes that it is important to have music be a part of our lives in some way. He is at his happiest when sharing and playing music with others. He cares deeply for his students and will give 110% every day for them.
