Ella is a dedicated chamber musician and orchestra performer. In addition to maintaining contracts with the Boulder Philharmonic, Redlands Symphony, and San Bernardino Symphony Orchestras, she has performed with the Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra and Santa Barbara Opera, Pasadena Symphony Orchestra, Pasadena Pops, Riverside Symphony Orchestra, Long Beach Symphony Orchestra, Fresno Philharmonic, Marina del Rey Symphony, Colorado Music Festival, Aspen Choral Society, and served as an Associate Concertmaster of the Colorado Mahler Festival and Boulder Chamber Orchestra. She has been a featured soloist for the Steamboat Springs Chamber Orchestra, Aurora Symphony, on Colorado Public Radio, and performed numerous chamber solos in the U.S., Europe, and Asian. Originally from Kazakhstan, Ella completed her Masters in Violin Performance in Cleveland and received her Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Colorado at Boulder. As a freelance musician in Los Angeles, she performed with Sir Elton John, Sarah McLachlan, and Earth Wind & Fire among other contemporary performers, and performed at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Dr. Weiss is a passionate teacher dedicated to helping her students succeed and achieve their best. In Los Angeles, she taught violin classes and orchestra at Education Through Music—Los Angeles, the Renaissance Arts Academy, an award winning public charter for the performing arts, California College of Music and La Canada Music Studio. Her students performed at Universal Studios, at the Music Unites Festival under composer Christophe Beck (The Muppets and Frozen), the Walt Disney Concert Hall, won the Fidelity Future State Competition and featured at the Hollywood Bowl Opening Gala in 2010. Before her recent seven years in LA, she was on the faculty of the Boulder Arts Academy, and taught at Golden Music, private lessons and directed Golden Music’s orchestras. Her students have entered the Denver School for the Performing Arts, auditions with All State Symphony Orchestra, and Colorado Honor Orchestras and Denver Performing Center for the Arts.
