Daniel Nester- Bassoon
Daniel Nester begun studying the begun playing the bassoon in Israel when he was 13 years old. He completed his undergraduate degree at Tel Aviv University, and his master's at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Upon graduation, Daniel was appointed the principal bassoon player for the Israel Chamber Orchestra where he served for 3 seasons before moving to Colorado to peruse a doctoral degree in bassoon performance and pedagogy at the University of Colorado Boulder which he completed in May 2018.
Daniel has performed regularly with orchestras and ensembles in CO, CA, and Israel. He is the principal bassoonist for the Arapahoe Philharmonic and the Steamboat Symphony, and a regular guest principal with the Grand Junction Symphony.
Dr. Nester's true passion is teaching the bassoon. He teaches regularly in schools around Colorado, and is often invited to present guest lectures and masterclasses at universities in Colorado and beyond, most recently at Fort Lewis College in Durango.
